The Mill was built in 1859 by a Scottish immigrant named George McLean. The village of Aberfoyle was named after a small village below the Trossachs mountains, about 40 km north of Glasgow, by another Scottsman named George MacFarlane. Since this is takeout, i am not reviewing their service, but for takeout food, their food is prepared well, tastes great, and all guests loved their salads and meals. The strip steak was done exactly as i ordered, and they include bread in the take out order which is a nice touch. Great food everytime i eat there.

I must say, I cannot believe some of the reviews that people have submitted for this place. I have never encountered anyone who experienced anything but an superb meal with wonderful service. This establishment has been a benchmark of dining excellence for at least the four years I have lived in the area. I have attended the restaurant on many different occasions; once for a business lunch, once for a company Christmas party/murder mystery theatre (not my company, I was a date), once for an outdoor wedding, and a few (most recently) for a dinner dates.
Primarily, I have never had a better caeser salad in my life. Every time I have been there I have ordered it. It is a exactly how a caeser salad should taste like. I have never had a less than excellent main course there. There was one time at Kevin and Jodi's wedding where a lady at our table didn't enjoy her meal, but the waitress and manager bent over backwards to fix her food and make sure she was happy. Another time I was went out to have a romantic meal with a date but a very young child at the next table started to get cranky. The baby started to cry and was causing a bit of a scene. Within seconds, it seemed, a young waiter rushed over and started playing "peeka-boo" with the crying boy until he was giggling hystarically. The parents of the child were very grateful of his entertainment, but more so for me, saved my date.
I cannot imagine a situation where the people at this restaurant would not do anything and everything to ensure your total satisfaction.

my chicken was dry, warm goat's cheese salad was not warm and waiter no where to be found after food was presented. I was tempted to get up and pour my own water.
