The Mill was built in 1859 by a Scottish immigrant named George McLean. The village of Aberfoyle was named after a small village below the Trossachs mountains, about 40 km north of Glasgow, by another Scottsman named George MacFarlane. The Mill Originally functioned as a grist mill, powered by the pond situated at the back of the building. Excellent service and the food is just wonderfull. I have also hosted an event there and they were extremely easy to deal with. I can't say enough about this fabulous restaurant!
My wife and I often go to the Mill for dinner. We always have a very good meal and excellent service. Management really seems to take notice and greet you when you arrive as well as leaving. I highly recommend this restaraunt.
It was a great experience having a nice dinner at historical building once used to be a mill. Our appetizer 'garlic shrimp' was flavorful and was cooked to perfection; main course was very good except my Angus sirloin which was chewy (med rare), the duck confit and pasta were perfectly done. One thing I did like the most about this restaurant was the service which was very prompt and professional. I will definitely go back and try other items.
