Very lovely atmosphere, nice service. Food is average, nothing spectacular, although the dessert - pomegranate ice-cream cake was divine! Belly-dancer was great too! Will go again for sure! Made Mother's day very special!
Hello, I would just like to tell you about my bad experience at the Sultans Tent this past Saturday Feb 10. We arrived a group of 16 people and were seated in our own tent. Being my first visit to the Sultans Tent I was looking forward to comparing it to other Moroccan restaurants with belly dancing and such. I was very displeased at the belly dancing act itself. It only lasted about 30minutes total and the show wasn't organised at all. The belly dancers just seemed to wonder around dancing at the same speed and asking people if they would like to try dancing. Despite the rhythm of the songs changing the dancers kept the same routine, they would not change the tempo of their dancing to match the rhythm. I found that to be very amateur. We were asked by our waiter if we wanted water, thinking nothing of it we said of course, he then brought us a bottle of water and emptied it in our glasses. About half way through our meal we asked for more water, we were brough a 2nd bottle later to find out that water of all things was being charged at 7$ a bottle(the waiter failed to mention this little bit of info)Paying a base price of $40 per meal I would expect a show that had some orginisation involved, instead of just getting the people involved. At the end of it all. We were advised by the waitor that we had to leave, despite not having finished our meals, because the next group of people were waiting to be seated. We were handed our bills by table, despite having asked to be billed by couples, the waiter said it wasn't possible to do so, when obviously there were couples eating in the restaurant. In the end, after paying over $200 total (because we had to devide the bill in 2 groups ourselves, we didnt have time to finish our meals and enjoy a drink. The show was dis-organised and my entire experience was very bad. I have had much better experiences and shows at other locations and the bill was able to be devided the way we asked. I believe the reviews of the place in some of the papers were misleading and my personal experience with the place wasn't pleasing at all. I have never written a complaint before but I felt compeld to do so after visiting the Sultans Tent.
