Born and raised in Saskatchewan, Derek grew up in Saskatoon and area. After High School, he spent 2 years in Prince Albert where he completed his Small Engine Mechanic Course. He moved to Saskatoon and began working as a welder in various fabrication shops. With 15 years welding experience, he wanted to expand his career options and started working as a Welding Inspector and found he loved the change. After working 5 years as an Inspector for a large company, it was time for another opportunity and DMS Inspection Services was formed.
