“We like cool things. Who doesn’t, right?” says Nathan Gannage, owner of creative agency Saint Woods. “But I think with our particular location and the connections we have, we can spot and help trends grow so that everyone can enjoy them.”
Nathan started Saint Woods in 2006 in his first year at McGill University. A native of Toronto, he and his four childhood friends saw the opportunity to start music events that would bring new or obscure acts to the school’s campus and student population.
“Montreal certainly had a vibrant scene, and I think music was a perfect space to get into. Our generation loves music especially, there’s so much and such a wide variety of it available to us, and that’s reflected in the taste we have here now. We’ll be into anything from electro and its subsidiary movements to hip-hop, rap, indie and whatever movements may be going on at the moment. It’s our ability to pay attention to people and what they are looking for on a broad basis that, I think, allows us to really give them what they want and enable great experiences.”
