I absolutely love this pub and always look forward to returning. The food is consistently wonderful, particularly the specials. The service is always friendly and jovial and the staff make you feel like part of the family. The atmosphere is cozy and authentically pub-like and they have a great patio out front. The crowd is eclectic and interesting and seems to appreciate the place as much as I do. It's often busy here, but it's one of the few places I don't mind waiting for a table. Even the waiting is fun here!
Ribs were cooked perfectly and nicely presented. Steak sandwich was outstanding. Burger was a burger. Fries were tasty however could have been crisper. Overall eating experience great! If this pub could get their fries perfected (they can be all over the scale), they would have Torontonians camping in their outdoor patio area.
This pub is located in the heart of Cabbagetown. The staff and food are great. Very fresh pints! If you are looking for a pub that caters to the locals but on the more classy side..then this is the place to go. Good food, good prices, good people.
The daily specials are always AMAZING. Excellent food. The place is small, so during busy times it can get packed, and service can be a bit slow at these times. Either show up early, or be ready to wait a bit, but the meal will be worth it!!!
Excellent food, and service...trendy upscale Cabbage town folk..bit phony there..adults...guranteed best put food and atmosphere in Toronto which has hundreds of pubs...
The food is amazing and I've never had a bad menu item. The selection of beer on tap includes smaller breweries. Service could always be a little quicker but it's fine considering how busy they usually are and they are ALWAYS pleasant. No complaints - every bar/restaurant could be quicker, after all. Great crowd, too. I hate to use the word 'eclectic' but in this case it's true and I've never seen a problem there at all. If you do go and it seems to be too busy, wait around for 10 minutes as the crowd tends to turn-over quickly enough so that you can grab a table on the patio. In my opinion this is one of Toronto's best pubs.
one of the best pub in the city, with great food and excellent service. There is never a bad moment when dinning or just relaxing with friends at the HOP. Cheers to the staff and owner for making it what it is.

There are two savoury pies on the menu at House on Parliament. The tourtiere, a Quebecois classic, is filled with pork, tomato, jalapeno chutney, mashed potatoes and seasonal veggies. If you’re looking for an Anglo pie, you can order the Steak and Wild Mushroom Pie, packed with braised steak, wild mushrooms, a drizzle of truffle oil, mashed potatoes and vegetables. Whichever pie you choose it is sure to be delicious!

The menu features finger foods and snack plates – samosas, Scotch eggs, Ploughman’s platters – alongside hearty comfort foods, such as Tourtière, steak and mushroom pie, and bangers and mash. The century home and slightly raised patio look out over Parliament Street, making it the perfect spot to people-watch without feeling like you’re in the thick of things.
