Service is excellent. If there are any issues that arise, it's dealt with swiftly in a calm manner.

I wanted very much to like this place. It always looks busy and filled with young, hip people. The dining room is modern and appealing, even with the ubiquitous flat-screen TV hanging on the wall. The menu is expansive and full of variety. Unfortunately, it goes downhill from there. If you're on a student budget, you may want to save this place for a special date, or until your next grant arrives. I ordered a wonton noodle soup (one size only) and it was $10 for a small serving. Add in tax and tip and I don't get to do laundry for two weeks.
Wonderful little place on Somerset. We've gone several times over the past couple of months after hearing about it from some friends.
Pho was quite good and made just the way I like it, with rare beef and tripe. The soup base was good and deliciously salty. The vermicelli with pork and beef was excellent as well and very tender.
Overall a great Vietnamese eatery and very reasonable prices.
I'll admit this was my first pho. When a friend, a more seasoned Ottawanian, discovered I hadn't had tried this yet, this is where he took me.
While I'm normally more of a white meat/fish/seafood kind of eater, wanting the "real deal" I ordered a beef-based pho... beef slices, beef balls, complete with tendons and tripe. Both the tendons and tripe had interesting textures, but were delicious in the soup as a whole (do keep in mind you don't have to order it with these, my husband certainly did not!).
We had complimentary jasmine tea to start and ordered spring rolls before our pho, one pork and one shrimp/rice paper, both fresh and very good. We all ordered the small pho on my friends' recommendation and it was very big and filling and only $5! I added all the condiments they suggested, the culantro (which I learned.. is not cilantro!), the thai basil, lime, bean sprouts, a bit of spicy thai sauce.
The service was passive but satisfactory, I’ve found this many times in authentic Asian restaurants. Meals came quickly, bowls were cleared off very soon after being done and the bill came right after. Water glasses could have used an extra refill or two.
I would definitely go back, but now that I’ve had the authentic pho I would try a pork/shrimp version next time. Overall a very enjoyable pho experience!

The best I know in Ottawa. If you want to taste true Vietnamese pho, go there. My fiancee is vietnamese and she approves the place. Please, you people who criticise the service, understand that these guys have a different culture than you. If you go to their restaurant, expect their style othewise go to a italian or french cui$ine place.

My fiancée and I go at least once a week, We definitely love this place, it's the best pho in Ottawa, highly recommended. Delicious food, quick service, low low prices, free jasmin tea. The only "problem" is that they never have enough napkins.
