Great experience overall. All of the staff were very helpful and friendly. They gave me several different options on what would suite me best for my Hollywood smile:) im quite pleased with it. They were able to give me an incredible price on them. I highly recommend this place to anyone from just a simple cleaning or an advance cosmetic procedures.
After not having gone to a dentist for over 3 years (mainly because I couldn’t afford to), I was in great need of a cleaning and check-up. I booked an appointment at Inova Dental as I saw that they provide direct billing to insurance – which is a real help for me. I was very impressed by the friendly atmosphere and service from all the staff. The dental hygienist was gentle and efficient, the dentist took x-rays and prioritized the most important things to do first and helped me determine a plan of action to restore my teeth to good health that would suit my budget. I was also impressed by the fact they have modern equipment – this was the first time I had been to a dental office that used digital x-ray which I believe is far more comfortable and safer. I am recommending Inova Dental to friends and family.
I just returned from my first visit to Inova Dental, where I used my Groupon voucher (online coupon) "$39 for a one-hour cleaning, check-up, four X-rays and a fluoride treatment at Inova Dental."
The hygienist was 20 minutes late. Once I was in the chair, she told me that they wouldn't do the four X-rays, because "we don't zap people with radiation unless we think there's a problem with their teeth."
She then spent another 15 minutes telling me about my teeth and all of the insured procedures Inova offers to treat them: receding gums, weak enamel, stains, etc. To be fair, this was informative and has given me a lot to consider for future dental care. Still, I was 35 minutes into an hour-long appointment for a dental cleaning.
As the hygienist performed the cleaning, she paused every few minutes to upsell the treatments offered at Inova. I got approximately 1/4 of a dental cleaning, with no X-rays or fluoride treatment before my scheduled appointment time was up, whereupon she asked if I wanted to book another appointment to complete the cleaning, get the X-rays (say what?), and the treatments she mentioned.
To sum up, I paid $39 for a joke of a dental cleaning where the real goal was to get me to sit in a chair and be consulted on how Inova could get more money out of me, either through insurance or not.
I can not speak to Inova's other services, as to whether or not they are beneficial. Perhaps they are. However, I left the appointment feeling as though I had paid to be marketed to, without even the completed service of a full cleaning.
