Come enjoy a delicious dish at Mandarin Restaurant. You can get there not only by public transit and bicycle but also by car. They are in a lively location acknowledged for its nightlife and its history.
Not worth the $60 for delivery. Received larger portions from other Chinese food restaurants. Rice was over cooked, Cantonese chow mein where were the noodles. Won't be ordering again. Really disappointed.

Ordered take-out for the first and last time. Most items ordered were overcooked and tasteless I.e. Cantonese chowmin; mixed vegetables with chicken & sweet & sour pork.
The quality of the take out food is not comparable with the food served in the buffet.
DO NOT ORDER TAKEOUT...YOU WILL BE EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED.
Dinner tonight was a disaster , counted 4 children's birthday parties,,,,Was like McDonalds play room restaurant,,,,don't blame the kids ,the problem is Mandarin should have had a separate room for parties and let adults eat in a proper atmosphere......
Frequent visitor. Food great although seems expensive but there is lots of variety. For a special evening out it's great. We personally prefer the Mandarin in Pickering, different ambiance, seems more open but the drive is too far on a full stomach
This was the first time we ordered home delivery...
This was the first time we ordered home delivery. The fried rice was over cooked and dried out, the honey garlic spare ribs were hard and chewey chicken balls also dried out. All the dishes were only warm. These items must have been left over from the lunch buffet as we ordered around 5:30pm. I've eaten in there before and enjoyed it but would never call for delivery again.
I went to this restaurant for the one and only time i've ever been there. My boyfriend took me there, and i enjoyed my self so much, from the hot sake (though the sake glasses were very different, the fact that when i went to poor the hot sake out it dripped down my sake glass, and not into the cup) but other then that sake was amazing. The food, you just couldn't get enough off, all you can eat! Get your moneys worth! When i walked into the restaurant at first, i was speechless with the decorating. The celiing was soo unique, as it look like a a reall like cloud. Though ill admit, the waitress, all they said was , "Welcome to Mandarin " Way to much! And the food was great, though from a waitress that works in a REAL sushi restautant, the sushi they serve at this restaurant looked fake, i was very disapointed in the quailty.
Other then that , a good tip would be to make resavations, beaceuse when we arivedit was just soo packed! Though it is worth the wait!
I would diffently go back with more customers!!
Mandarin again, but in Oshawa one of the newer franchises. Food and service here seems to be better than the Pickering location. This may be due to the fact that this developed location is a great place for people in northern parts of Whitby and the northern redeveloped Oshawa to come to. Always seems to be that this location is always full. Food seems fresh and cooked ok. Same prices. Can not complain.
Our family has celebrated many, many birthdays and other celebrations at this establishment, it is run by a group of great professionals. Always very clean, fantastic assortment of foods for everyone and for every age group. Deserts are awesome. Service is excellent that is why we keep returning!!! Keep up the good work and keep smilin!

I JUST WANT TO SAY HOW MUCH I ENJOYED CELEBRATING MY BIRTHDAY AT YOUR MANDARIN YESTERDAY. MEL AND HIS TEAM MADE IT SO MUCH FUN, AND THE PICTURE I TOOK HOME TO PUT ON THE FRIDGE WILL GIVE ME FOND MEMORIES FOR ANOTHER YEAR.
WE WILL DEFINITELY BE BACK THE FIRST WEEK OF JULY WITH MY SON AND HIS FAMILY FROM REGINA TO BE IN MEL'S ROOM FOR A MEAL.

The 9.99 all you can eat lunch buffet is by far...
The 9.99 all you can eat lunch buffet is by far the best deal at any restaurant I have ever eaten at. Dinner is more pricey, 19.99, but still worth it...the food is plentiful, warm, fresh, original, and despite the buffet style, uncompromised in terms of quality. I have eaten at several all you can eat and table d'hote chinese restaurants, and even though this one is considered to be quite plebien, I am always happy to go.

The food is good but the deserts are NOT that great the water taste like toilet water and I only drink water so that was a real turn off, the lunch food never seems to change, and the dinner food isn't much different then lunch. The staff is very good, very nice and on top of things considering how packed it is in there. It was very clean inside and out and I found the main course to be very fresh.
I have visited the Mandarin many times, and as always the food is great. This visit we went with a party of 10 and 2 babies in car seats. We asked for seating in a spacious area as we had the babies in car seats. Well all 10 adults were jam packed in a tiny corner close to the window with no room what-so-ever to place the 2 babies. And I mean we were jammed, no arm room, I felt like I had to leave the table to change my mind. We moved the table ourselves closer to the table behind us to give more room. Beside us was a table that seated at least 20 and there were only 5 people sitting there. A little disappointed that they didn't give us more room. The waiter waited what seemed like forever to ask a drink order, I mean we were all done our salads and on our second course when asked. It took forever for the drinks, and the waiter barely came by to refill our water or drinks. They rarely took the plates from the table, a soup bowl sat there on the edge of the table for the entire meal, and was taken just as we were leaving. Had family come in from out of town and was hoping to give them a great experience at the mandarin since they don't have one near them, and they definitly enjoyed the food but very disappointed in the service. The waiter tried ripping us off on our money when he was bring back the change for each bill. My visits before were great, the service was always great, usually the waiters were waiting like vultures to take your plates or fill your water up. Not sure what happened this time, but definitly will not take a group there again.
