Less Lemon Pledge
We were on our way to another restaurant nearby, but we decided to stop by Vietnam Taste since we had never been before. We ordered the pho, pad thai, and the spicy fish dish which was on the 'chef's specials' menu. When I got my pho, I could already tell it was going to be bad. There was no colour in the soup stock, I was not given any bean sprouts or chilis or lemon. I likened it to putting plain noodle sin boiling water. It was ABSOLUTELY TASTELESS. Thank god for the sriracha or it would've been inedible. When the pad thai arrived, it looked hopeless as well. It was simply a pile of mushy yellow noodles with nothing else - which would be okay, if the noodles tasted decent. However, they tasted shockingly close to what some household cleaning agents would taste like - a really unnatural lemon flavour that did not linger well on the palate. We had to leave it mostly uneaten. I'll give them some credit for the fish though, it wasn't prepared in the traditional way but it had decent flavour (but no where near spicy.) When we were ready to leave, the waitresses did not bother to check or even look at us for 20-25 minutes. I finally had to get up to go to the counter to pay, and even then, they kept on doing something else and made me wait another 7-8 minutes at the counter. Not a pleasant experience, needless to say we WILL NOT be going back. I actually registered on this site to write this because I had never such a terrible experience at a restaurant.
