Montanas in Waterloo

I can't find the Waterloo location on this site but this review is about my experience there. Went on a Wednesday with girlfriends for drinks and nibbles in the bar. The service was awesome and the food was pretty quick and very tasty. We shared spinach dip, antojitoes and nachoes and we were stuffed! We didn't know a band would be playing and it was an added bonus. We had a great time and have plans to make this our regular get- together hangout!

Not a great visit

It's same ole, same ole... each visit. You can usually count on decent food and service here. However was there on Saturday night and ordered the 1/2 Chichen, it comes with a couple sides and if you want make substitutions you usually can. I asked for this and wasn't offered to make any side choices or whatever. I really didn't even realize this till our dinner were served. Needless to say, it's partially my fault, but my server is a long term employee and should from habit offered this up. Instead I got whatever he wanted to have. It was good, just I would have liked it MY way. Wasn't pleased about not getting a refill on pop, I had to ask for this after I was completely done my meal. The bar area wasn't busy at all so it was less attentive service and not due to the fact they were running around. Anyway.... take what you want from this. I will go back as I have gift cards to use up.

Caesar salad - quite good. Chicken Quesadillas...

Caesar salad - quite good. Chicken Quesadillas - very good. Meatloaf - sad story: Mashed potatoes were standard instant, with grated raw potato mixed in to fool me into thinking someone actually made these.I've learned to accept that nowadays. Broccoli was raw. Not firm, raw.I've learned to accept this too. Why oh why, in the name of all that's GrandMotherly, would someone drown "homestyle" meatloaf in Chinese Sweet 'n Sour sauce? Once I rescued my (small) portion from this weird concoction, it was quite palatable. The clash of the gravy and the S/S sauce is permanently etched on my tongue, however. Probably created by the same genius who decided that I was not allowed to smoke on the outdoor smoking patio. I, of course, accepted that too. I will simply not return.

TERRIBLE . worst service EVER you see montanas...

TERRIBLE . worst service EVER you see montanas has a thing they do on B-Days and well it was my B-Day and what they do for birthdays is they sing to you and they give you a FREE desert well my wattriss at the time had KNEW it was my birthday and IN THE END i got now song sang ( whitch i had not so much missed because i dont like great deals of attention ) but i had missed was my free desert and on top of all theses the place jurring i had been sitting was near the kitchen door and while i was eating some of the kitchen staff were fighting / also verbally now if i had my little cousine there i whould be OUTRAGGED if he had heard what i did and EVEN to top this off i had the steak meal whitch the steak was SOO SMALL it barley covered the corrner of a pice of papper and agin to top this off the majority of my food was COLD especially there so called HOT beans whitch where nithere hot or spicey . peace out p.s potatos were the only thing GOOD

Used to be an OK Place

HAdn't been here is over a year...boy has t gone down hill! Took 30 minutes to get our food, arrived cold and my 4 year old's meal didn't come until the rest of us were completely done eating (almost 1 hour from the time we ordered)....the waitress didn't come to explain or opologise in between. Most of the food arrived cold, portion size of the mashed potatoes was a joke, about 3 tablespoons worth (I am NOT exagerating) and there were 2 mistakes on the orders, but we were affraid to send them back as we were all so hungry by the time we got the food! I over heard another table complaining about the food and service as well!
