If you don't like this place, your pedestal is too high.

I've visited this little sub and ice cream shop many times and it always has me feeling very satisfied, and warm inside cause I was able to help out a small mom and pop shop. The man working here, whom I've yet to get his name is a vibrant heat warming fella'. Very friendly, makes you feel like a regular. The food, great! I can't believe anyone would rate this place poorly, for what it is its FANTASTIC. I've tried almost all the subs on the menu, my most recent visit I got the rib sub for myself, loaded it up with all the toppings, made a huge mess eating it and loved every minute of it. Its places and eats like this that make life all worth while, yes its a big statement I know but its truly a gem. Something has to be done right to get consistent high ratings. I was shocked to see someone write a poor review on this place knowing full well what they were getting into. These are the comfort foods that are hard to come by in this day and age with big franchised companies saturating the industry. From street meat to racks of lamb, I've had it all and this place gets my approval! I will be coming back and I'm bringing a crowd. Wheres Anthony Bourdain when you need him? p.s. To anyone knocking a mom and pop shop, check your self before you wreck yourself.

Good food

Good subs and friendly locale service. My son always visits from Red Deer. Price is fair, plenty of selection, plenty to eat. Will fully recommend.

Yep, it's a sub place

A nice alternative to the boring franchise Sub Sandwich places. Food is better and price is no worse and you get to support the little guy. I go here for lunch often. Someday I'll try the ice cream 8)

Overrated - quick simple food is this.

This is mediocrity assessed to a level that it cannot achieve. 5 stars should never be available to such low level input constituents that are the basis for the various creations here. While the very congenial owner laboriously provides the quick serve goodies, one cannot overlook the pale gyro meat product that dominates this highly variable dish. The grilled chicken is nuked to a serving temperature that completes it's change of state to a rubbery eel like consistency. This is quick serve food and very cheap - hence the price but the product exists because of the price alone. if you want to avoid the deep fryer across the street or the highly priced tapas nearby, then this is your fall back location. Be warned - value comes at a price ... and this is very cheap food.

Food is excellent, very large portions and great service from the owner behind the counter. Atmosphere is appropriate for what it is, a small little sandwich shop. Excellent value for your money. My Gyro had almost 2 inch thick layer of meat, and the ham sub was generously topped. No question i'll be back.
