It’s a windy, wet Wednesday night and the upscale Tasty Indian Bistro is packed. Brothers and proprietors Inder and Manjit Saini are sporting pretty big smiles as they mingle with guests and stop often to shake hands.
It’s no wonder — the restaurateurs have a lot to grin about. Ignoring naysayers who told them the location wasn’t the best and having “Tasty” in the name of a chic Indian restaurant was “too cheesy”, they have expanded less than three years after opening Tasty Indian Bistro on the border of Delta and Surrey.
“’Tasty’ was part of the name of our father’s first restaurant,” says Inder. “This place was our father’s dream and sadly he passed away before it opened … Tasty is a way for us to honour our father, Avtar Saini, and all he did for us.”
Avtar had a dream of creating a restaurant where customers could dine like royalty. The décor certainly lives up to that with its oversized exotic beaded hanging lantern lamps, custom paneled walls with lighted cases showcasing either candles or sculptured elephants, and its plush seating.
Delight in flavourful and colourful Indian cuisine at its finest. Tasty is devoted to serving excellent food to complement the elegant and stylish — yet cozy and casual — dining atmosphere. The patio seating is spacious for the private enjoyment of diners during any kind of weather. Vegans, vegetarians and those with gluten allergies rejoice in the cuisine available for their diets.
