I love Dr. Allan and all his staff! They are so friendly and willing to help. I suffered with vertigo that was debilitating and had gone to my regular DR. She told me I needed to wait to see a specialist and go back to work. I then went to Dr. Allan and after examining me he told me I needed to immediately be off of work for at least 2 months and helped me get into a specialist to begin the treatments. He then supported me even further along the whole process and actually had me off of work for 6 months...telling me I needed to look after myself if I was to ever get over vertigo. He was so understanding and caring and provided excellent service. Thank-you Dr. Allan for all your support and my return to work!
His staff is excellent as well. I took my son into the clinic with both of his ears infected. After waiting for about 45 minutes he began to cry because his ears hurt so bad. They snuck us in for the next one in llne because they knew he needed relief! Thank-you so much to the staff for your kindness and understanding. I would highly recommend this clinic and am so thankful for all they did to get me back to feeling well again!
I have been using Dr. Allen for years, and find him knowledgable, straight forward and a no nonsense type of Dr. I would recomment this clinic highly. As any other walk-in clinic you will have to wait, but the staff is more then helpful in working with you, taking out your file and telling you when to come back, so you can go and do your shopping and then go back.
reading some of the comments, the old saying comes to mind "you can't win all the people all the time, just some of the people some of the time!"
As for taking time off, Dr. Allen has done his duty to society, he was in the US Airforce and flew cargo planes for a number of years, so i would say that he is allowed some R&R time now. As for his texas accent, it just makes it more interesting and does away with the stuffy attitude that some of the Dr.s have.
This clinic has been awesome. While I prefer the initial hours and three docotors (evenings and weekends), Dr. Allen has been amazing. It takes 3 weeks for me to get into our family doctor and so we have been greatful for this service. We have been treated great by the staff and the doctors. They play with the kids while waiting and the doctor stays informed and on top of trending illnesses and treatments. When the wait has been long, we have been able to leave and come back. We have also been able to contact the doctor after hours when needed. If you need a walk in clinic this is your choice for Lethbridge, we just wish there were more of them or more hours for this one.
The doctor is an American and he works whenever is convenient for him. Fair enough, but the clinic hours are NEVER as scheduled, and are at best, unpredictable. Definatley call before you go. The receptionist and other staff there are mean, cold, unhelpful and strict. They dont care if you come or go, get treated or not, as long as you pay your bill at the end of the visit. I went in for a drivers medical and they quoted me $200!!! everywhere else in the city charges $50-$75. Where is all the extra money going? When i laughed at the price and told them what other clinics charge, the receptionist got mad and told me i sould be grateful that they even offer service at all! I laughed again, shook my head, and left, NEVER to go back there again. What a joke.
I have had numerous bad experiences here. The doctor was rude and treated me terribly and then critisised my family doctor for prescribing me certain medication. Today I went in there and was told it would be a half an hour wait, and was there for TWO hours!! And there were still two people ahead of me!
The staff neglected to tell anyone that the wait time may be longer as they had a patient in the back that was waiting for an ambulance, and even after the patient had gone, there was no progress made. No courtosey whatsoever.
I have gone in before with my husband for a small check up, and then the next time for the same thing they tried to charge $500!! When every other clinic was doing it for free....Trying to pocket extra cash or what???
Would NOT reccomend going here to anyone. I could have drove to Cardston, got in, got a prescription, and been almost home in the same time without any hassels. I left at the two hour mark and would much rather go to night clinic.
