I've been eating here off and on for about twenty years and the food is consistently excellent. My one complaint (perhaps more of an observance, really) relates to how noisy it can get with a full house. Once upon a time, they used to have a carpeted dining room but changed it to tile about ten years ago. Needless to say, sounds are no longer muffled. Read more

Something is wrong with the people who gave this place a poor review. Go and taste for yourself! Atmosphere can be a little crowded and noisy, but depends on what time you go. Dinner is very quiet, while breakfast is louder. Busy restaurant = great food! It feels just like home when eating here, very friendly and service is A+. Server Kelly is especially excellent. My wife and I have gone to Flippers for 25 years and we simply love it there. We get really well treated. Mostly because we are regulars and are very nice to the staff and we tip extremely well (sometimes 30% of total bill) The meals are exceptional, the service is wonderful and we have often taken people with us, who have become clients of Flippers on their own. When we leave the restaurant we compare notes and my wife and I normally say how wonderful everything was. It is one of our faourites in Ottawa. Read more
