The service is fantastic and the atmosphere is very inviting, comfortable and clean, but the real reason I keep going back is the food. Change did Mom's good. Not sure who the new owners are, but we only went back because we heard the old ones were gone. The biggest difference, these people care, my breakfast was fast, hot, and very good. I went to college up the road, and after being treated poorly repeatedly by the previous owners, I said I would never go back. Well, am I ever glad I did. I have visited this location many times and have had a good meal overall in most instances. The most recent visit was for brunch. I was intrigued by the description for the pear and coconut pancakes but they were a letdown - dry, lacking flavour. The coffee is decent, a bit strong, not always hot. Their omelettes are usually good and I've heard that their strawberry french toast is good so maybe I'll give that a try. For dinner, I've tried Bellinis on numerous occasions but they are hit or miss (usually miss) - they don't always have a good flavour. I liked their very first menu when they opened - with chicken reggiano and white chocolate brownie. Their Caesar salad used to be a larger portion and had a LOT more roasted garlic in it but it seems they've cut back. Read more

I visited Swiss Chalet with low expectations. My four year old son was excited about the toys they offered so we went for a quick dinner. I was pleasently surprised. We sat with a young waitress who I unfortunatly also held low expectations for. At such a young age I doubted that she knew much...however she provided us with better service than we had recieved in a chain..maybe ever. She brought our meals promptly, was attentive, we didnt need to ask for refills, and when my son spilt on himself, she cleaned it all up and even stopped his crying. The food wasn't great, but as long as you have service like that, I would be back anytime. Read more

While driving around the scenic Caledon Hills with two friends, we stopped for lunch at Tom's Family Restaurant. The service was warm and friendly, the atmosphere comfortable and relaxing, and the food was perfect for our needs - we didn't want an upscale, fancy restaurant, just a casual, friendly place with good food. I had some of the best fish & chips I've ever had. I couldn't resist trying the homemade strawberry-rhubarb pie, and it didn't disappoint - it was heavenly!
