I am not sure how realistic the other reviews are. But as a person who has been to many different salons. This is by far one of my favorites. It is a smaller place but the atmosphere is great. On top of it all my hair turned out amazing. My stylist was friendly as well as honest. The worst is to have a stylist would just do
Not sure what salon these other reviewers went to, but I had a great experience at Main Designs. I found the staff very friendly, and although the salon is small I thought they made great use of the space. I loved my hair when I left and even booked my appointment for my next visit. I would say I had a great time for the two hours I was there getting my color. The staff are very fun to be around.
This salon has a tiny waiting area so you are practically sitting on the lap of the person next to you, also there is coffee available but awkward to get at. Most salons offer this for you while you wait ( as in "Hi, would you like a coffee?" also, the stylists working acted like best friends with customers only to laugh at them and gossip about them after they left. The stylists are extremely sarcastic and rude. I could have done my hair myself for what I ended up with,and nearly had my ear burnt off with a straightener she kept slamming the iron down so hard every time, also noticed one stylist in particular who wouldn't brush off a man after cutting his hair, he was covered in it. Would never recommend this to anyone, ever.
The only reason I get my haircut at Main Designs is because they are fast. Twice I have had to wait for staff to finish their hair before they start on mine and twice I have had staff drop their brush/comb on the floor and pick it up and proceed to do my hair with it. They didn't wipe it and they don't appear to have any cleaning materials on their stations i.e. Barbicide. Although they are fast and convenient, I'm not sure I will continue to get my hair cut at Main Designs. I don't find them courteous, or friendly. It's amazing how the businesses in Yukon are so complacent - customer service doesn't mean very much to them!
