“Travel, photography, learning: those are the three pillars I build my life on, and my business,” says dirXions owner Marcel Mueller. The globe-trotting photographer has a passion for discovering the world in which we live. “My business is the amalgamation of everything I have seen, everything I’ve learned in my life," he says. "My goal now is to share the world’s beauty.”

This wanderlust was ingrained in Marcel from a young age. Born in Switzerland to a Swiss father and Canadian mother, he spent the first few years of his life on planes. “My father worked in trade and we were always zipping left and right,” he recalls. The family finally settled in Montreal when Marcel was still a child.

“I think that is definitely what instilled in me this taste for discovery, for the unknown,” he explains. The self-taught photographer left Quebec after CEGEP for a year-long trip through Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, Hawaii and Western Canada. “That one year stretched into five and allowed me to not only discover myself, but my passion for photography.”
