Le Trèfle Taverne Irlandaise, located on Ontario Street in the heart of Hochelaga-Maisonneuve in Montreal, is the younger brother of the original Trèfle in Trois-Rivières. The five co-owners behind the project have managed to combine a neighbourhood pub, restaurant and festive spirit in one place, all with an atmosphere of a classic Irish pub.
The well-seasoned team also own six other bars in Montreal and has chosen a relaxed atmosphere, impeccable décor and tasty cuisine for Le Trèfle Taverne Irlandaise.
Because Irish poutine is a thing. We humbly present... the Bhuntàta! It's made with morsels of fish and chips, mature cheddar and a colcannon that you won’t find anywhere else in the world. What’s a colcannon, you say? Well, it’s a traditional Irish dish, made of cabbage and/or mashed potatoes and butter.
Yes, Trèfle is primarily an Irish pub, but let it be known, the selection of bottled Quebec microbrews to be found here is impressive: Brasseurs GMT, Trou du diable, Dieu du ciel, Dunham, Trois mousquetaires, Brasseurs du monde, Archibald, Brasseurs sans gluten, Brasseurs du Nord … you name it, you’ll probably find it!
Finally, a place for residents of Hochelaga! Le Trèfle is the perfect place for foodies. With a list of over 100 beers and scotches, your fussy friends will surely find something to their liking. In addition, the decor is sublime and the food is wonderful.
