Sometime around 2011, le Compagnie des Alpes, who owns Grévin Paris and many other entertainment venues in France, decided to take its famous brand across the Atlantic. Thanks to the good relations between France and Québec, as well as Paris and Montreal, the latter was chosen as the venue for the first new Grévin wax museum since the Paris opening in 1882!
It took two teams, two years to develop the project for the new Grévin Montrealwax museum. "There was a team from Paris in order to ensure that the essence of the parent company was properly conferred to the new site, but also a team from Montreal to bring the local touch," explains Alice Carvalho, head of communications at Grévin Montreal. "Grévin Montreal is above all a museum for Montrealers and Quebecers."
