Mai and Anthony Nguyen, originally from Vietnam, are both experts in fine Japanese cuisine. Since 2009, they've been the owners of Aiko Sushi, a sushi restaurant in the Plateau Mont-Royal area of Montreal.
Anes Thouraya, who is trained in finance and administration, has been the restaurant's manager for a number of years. "It's one of the largest sushi restaurants on the Plateau," says Anes, who originally started at Aiko Sushi as a delivery driver. He is now responsible for the administrative side of the restaurant and, as someone who's not afraid of responsibility, says he loves his job.
Anes originally came to Montreal from Tunisia to complete his studies, but decided to stay because of the city's diversity. "We were won over by Montreal's multicultural side. It is also a city that's lively and friendly," he adds.
