Dr. Lina Guzzo completed her doctoral studies at the University of Ottawa. She then registered as a clinical psychologist with the College of Psychologists of Ontario. Her declared areas of competency include the practice of both clinical and forensic psychology with adult, children, youth, and families. Dr Lina Guzzo started her career providing clinical services and later managed a multi-disciplinary community based clinic in Sault Ste. Marie. More specifically, she provided diagnostic psychological assessment and psychotherapy to children and adolescents as well as supervision and consultation to a multi-disciplinary community treatment team for young offenders. She also managed a Walk-In Clinic and has experience in a residential treatment program providing intensive consultation and assessment services to youth at high risk.The work of the unit obtained notoriety and led to over a dozen Ontario Public Service Awards. For over a decade she led the implementation of applied research and evaluation across the province to inform the Ministry's strategic plan. Of note, she was a member of a provincial working committee that developed and validated the Workload Measurement Tool for Probation and Parole offices for which the committee was awarded the Amethyst Award. In 2013, Dr. Guzzo returned to her roots in clinical practice, as the Director of Clinical Services for the Child and Family Centre as a member of the leadership team leading the transformation to children’s mental health services in North Eastern Ontario.
