We keep the receipt from the last order so it is easier to order again. This time, tonight I gave the person the receipt, and when we got back home we did not have chicken chop suey, we had chicken lo mien. I specifically said chow mien!!!! We have always had them put in dry noodles for the chow mien & none this time. We didn't mind the price change, just not messing up our order. We were not driving back to change it as it was dark out & both of us don't like to drive at night.

what not to like a Kings Buffet, my fav's are honey ribs,breaded shrimp, lemon chicken and desert is wonderful. Also Sushi are wonderful too! hahahah

wonderful visit

Had a wonderful visit with my cousins and fantastic eats! Kings Buffet Stratford is always good. Everything tasted fresh and the staff was very helpful and attentive.

I love this buffet. It is always hot and fresh, and the biggest buffet in Stratford. They are funny and very helpful. We often do take out, and the prices are extremely good for take out.

Dried out and lukewarm food

We used to like coming here from Kitchener for a buffet treat. We hadn't been here for a few years, though. This will be our last time, as we were greatly disappointed. The food quality was quite inferior, as the meat dishes were dried out (as noted by other reviewers) and, very notably, not overly hot (which greatly concerned me). I tried to see if Stratford had online restaurant inspection info like so many other cities do (I couldn't find any indication of it).

On Feb 5 2010 (Friday night) We took our family to kings. I should have considered leaving when i saw only a quarter of the seats had people in them. We looked around to see what was good to eat. Most of the food looked dried up. I chose a few items, which looked "safe" Heres what i noticed, Pickles were so used up they had shriveled and had pieces missing from them which gave them the looks of being chewed. I chose some mandarin oranges and pineapple from the salad bar.. they looked safe, They tasted fermented. There was a oriental lady "cleaning" the salad bar up. All she did was pick up stuff that had fallen from the bowl or platters and put them back in.. "cross contamination issues" i would think. The desserts were dried and were missing tools to pick and serve with. How does whip cream dry up ?? !! The floors had debris consistently all over... WE left there having eaten very little and I was in the worst pain last night (stomach ache) What happened to this place? I am surely disappointed in the level of care (this place used to be fantastic) I have decided not to go back and now know how it can be so empty on a Friday night at supper time.......

I was in town to attend a family dinner on December 24th. We were brought to the VIP room. It was a definitely a good place to go! For about $10 per person, you have more than 100 food items to choose from. Enjoyable atmosphere and friendly staff. I love this place! will come back again next year!

I was in Stratford visiting my friends, and we went to this Chinese restuarant... As soon as we entered the restaurant, we were greeted by some extremely friendly staff.. The atmosphere was very comfortable and cozy.. food were great and fresh and there were a wide range of selections to choose from, and we really enjoyed the lobsters. The server was really attentive and helpful. The manager came to my table to see if everything was okay.. Definitely a nice place to go for a relaxing atmosphere and decilious food!!!

Was in town visiting for a hockey tournament. A King's Buffet recently opened in our city and it is beautiful inside - unlike this one. Walls heading towards bathroom were in need of repair and painting. Chairs still had bits of rice from previous occupants. Regarding food: the chicken and Pork were too heavily breaded, probably to cover up the lack of meat or the fat content. Many of the pans were empty (this was at 12:30pm). Chicken balls were overcooked and tasted like they were last night's warm-ups (would probably explain the over-doneness). Salmon was tasty but cold. Desserts: I spoke to one of the servers....plenty of selection but there was only about 1 lifter for every 2 desserts so you ended up with chocolate all over the lemon pie. I tasted a cream puff...very hard, even the whipped cream inside. Dessert table was untidy and the plates looked rinsed but not clean. Stuck with the ice-cream, figured it was safe. Overall impression? This restaurant does not measure up to the King's Buffet Chain. Looks to cut corners. Fruit needs to be fresh, not obviously unwrapped leftovers from the day before. Veggies need to be rinsed for the "freshened" up look, not the dried out look. I felt as if i needed to inspect everything I was eating. The chicken on a skewer looked anything but like chicken. Sorry guys....this restaurant maybe ok for the locals but if you've seen the others in the chain, you'll see that this one has just the sign to offer, nothing else. And I agreen with another reviewer...tables and chairs are too close together. Service though, was fine but perhaps a little more professional looking would be better (no facial piercing please) No stomach ache yet, just waiting.

Wonderful waitress, food was acceptable until I saw someone swatting flies right over the food. The same person, picked up food that had spilled out of containers on the salad bar, and put the pieces of food back in the containers..ugh..Needless to say I didn't have salad. Cleanliness practices just not up to par.

I came to this resturant as i was invited for my boyfriend aunts anniversary part. The service was okay but maybe that was because we were in the small room. The waitress came in a few times for drinks and our plates were cleaned as soon as we left the table however we had to continuly ask for the heat to be turn down. It was 30 degrees when we walked in. It would go down for a bit and then right back up again. The food was okay. I got pizza for myself as well as a little cousin and he threw it away after one bit as did i as the middle of the pizza was frozen. Once you have a piece of food that is undercooked you lose your appetite. So i feel for what i ate before the pizza was not enough to cover the cost that his aunt paid for us to eat.

Service was more than acceptable, however the food, having good quality was tastless. I spoke with one of the people in the kitchrn and was advised that the local patrons do not like spicy food. If they are not using MSG, they have to do something to improve the flavour. Salt? Many of the dishes had meat that was under cooked as well as many of the vegetables. Do you like eating raw onions with your vegetables?

I have been to other Kings Buffets in two other cities and this one was worse. The food was over cooked or not cooked really well, the selection was less, the tables were too close together. The service wasn't as good as well.
