My husband and i had the pleasure of dining in Thai One On. We were served by a wonderful young lady by Archana. She was so pleasant and very helpful regarding the menu. The food was outstanding. I have been going to Satay on the Road off and on for the better part of 15 years and have never once in that time had a disappointing meal. The food is always fantastic and despite having tried a myriad of different items I always come away from Satay satisfied. Of particualr note are one of the appetizers and one of the mains. First, the appetizer. Golden Baskets. They should call them by their full name...Golden Baskets of Amazing Tasty-ness with Just the Right Amount of Flavourful Spicy Goodness. I guess there isn't enough room on the menu for that though. These and the spring rolls are the perfect combo to kick off your meal. The second is Cashew Nut Chicken. I still hold Satay on the Road's Cashew Nut Chicken up as the gold standard for this dish. On a recent visit it made me miss Toronto...it is that good! The drinks list is kitschy too...they have their cocktail menu on those paper place-mats that used to be all the rage back in the '70s. Ah nostalgia. Anyway, located in the heart of Bayview Village...the area not the mall...Satay on the Road is a must dine for anyone who loves Thai and Malaysian food! Read more

This place is great, especially because of the location. Its only 2 minutes walk away from St. Clair Subway and is especially good if you work nearby. At lunchtime they never run out of food and everything is very high quality. They have spring rolls as well as pop, water and traditional thai beer. You can eat in or get take-away for only $6.00 which is cheaper than a lot of other places in the area, and excellent for a good amount of really tasty food. I would recommend their crystal noodles and barbecue chicken, but their pad thai is also really good. All in all this place is definitely a 5 star restaurant and I would recommend it to anyone! This place was recommended to us by friends who said it was good thai food and they were absolutely correct! My wife popped by after getting off the GO train and ordered 2 take out dishes. She said she was greeted warmly by a young man who also went back to cook the food fresh! The service was fast and the food was delicious! Actually, it was the best tasting pad thai I have ever had! At other places, the flavour and colouring is consistent with catsup and I never enjoyed pad thai that much becuase of this. This pad thai had a lot of flavour. The sauce was rich and the noodles were cooked to perfection. The chicken dish we had was equally as good. The portions were plentiful enough that we had leftovers for lunch the next day! I am definitely going to order from there again...sooner than later! Read more
