LOVE Adorn's Unique Pieces for our Home & Inn!

Elke (owner) & her husband (who frequently works in this magical shoppe), always scour for unique elegant home decor pieces, lovely fragrant perfumeries, & all sorts of neat specialty gifts. I always find treasures whether: a star night-light ladybug for a Christmas gift, a vintage box for my daughter's room, a carved mahogany bed & crown draping to create a focal point for our B&B suite, or Parisian dishes, mom & I love Adorn! We've shopped here for 5+ years and ALWAYS recommend to our guests!

Owner of Adorn Fine Furnishings Has Lots to Learn

Had a lovely summer outing to Port Perry on July 16, 2011. All went well until I had to deal with the owner of Adorn. I picked out a little side table and was quoted $93 by an employee, then $89 by the owner. My reason for asking the price again was because the table came in a couple of different sizes and shapes, so I figured there would be a difference in their prices. As far as I knew, I was purchasing the table for the amount I was quoted by the owner - $89. I had the owner set aside the table while I ran back to the car for my Visa card. At the cash I once again wanted to confirm the price. The employee told me it was $93. I asked if she would mind bringing over the owner so that I could ask if she would honour her lower quote. After posing my request the owner stared at me without cracking a smile and simply said "no". I then politely asked again if she would mind honouring her original quote. She replied with "I can't do it. If you don't want it you don't have to take it." I put back my wallet, said "thank you very much" and walked out. What ever happened to "the customer comes first" clause? This woman lost a sale over $4 - yes - a whole $4. Not only was she rude, but she obviously didn't know how to properly run a business. I'm sure that if the gentleman who handcrafted the table heard of how she lost a sale over $4, he would probably drop her as a vendor. I WILL NEVER STEP FOOT INTO THIS SHOP AGAIN AND FOR ANYONE ELSE....TAKE YOUR BUSINESS ELSEWHERE. Besides, most of the merchandise consisted of cheap imitations of the real deal.
