I absolutely LOVE this place. It has a wonderful selection of homemade soups and the beer bread is to die for. The small soup is plenty for a meal and with tax it still comes in under $5. I also just figured out that they update their soup list every day on facebook. Now if only they would make a cookbook of some of their soup recipes.....
A wonderful place to get a quick lunch in downtown Ptbo.
There are always 5 or 6 different soups available. The cream of tomato with basil is my favourite. With the ever changing selection, I sadly, never know when it will be available. The soups range from the familiar and comfortable (ie chicken noodle) to ones I have never heard of. Some vegan and vegetarian options. All soups come with baguette or beer bread (the beer bread is my favourite). The portions are generous and a small is always a hearty size.
It is pretty busy at lunch with take-out and people trying to dine in, but I have never had to wait more than five minutes.
This place has great soup. They do serve other food but most people come for the soup. They have about 6 or so different kinds and they are all really hearty and delicious. The beer bread they make is also really good. I always get my order to go because the dining area always seems so cramped during lunch hour.
A nice little lunch spot. The soup and bread is homemade. The menu and food is rustic. They have catered for my work and it was also very good. It was in the summer and we sat out in the back deck. It is a bit disconnected from the rest of the restaurant.
