You might think reading the messages in greeting cards is a fun and easy way of making a living. It is fun — but it’s also a responsibility that Nicole Shleifman of at home by papergrafix takes very seriously. “For our store, they have to be cheeky, soulful, sophisticated and humorous,” sayss Nicole, smiling. “It’s fun picking them out, but they must be right for our customers. I always bounce them off others to make sure I’m on track and that the humour has wide appeal.” Sandra Shleifman, Nicole’s mother, started out specializing in invitations and stationery back in 1989 and her studio blossomed into the store it is today with Nicole joining the enterprise and adding her particular flair along the way.
