Mmmm...Twiggs. They have phenomenal pizza at a really great price. The chai tea is really yummy as is the chai and espresso milk shakes. I think my only complaint so far is that the hot chocolate is very disappointing. I really love my hot chocolate and this one simply isn't chocolatey enough. For such a great establishment, I'm surprised by their lack of taste in their hot chocolate. I should also mention that I find the staff taking orders is often not very friendly. I would recommend improving on this (I've only encountered this and regularly at the McKoewn and sometimes the One Kid's Place location). This most definitely would not discourage me though and is not a real problem, just something to improve on.
Awesome staff, great coffee and great place to meet with friends.
Service is usually slow. Coffee tastes bitter and horrible. Roasting their own beans isn't doing them any favours.
The dark roast is among the best coffee in town. The scones, bars and cakes are normally really good too. Lots of selection, both for food and drink.
I used to loved this place, but the last 4 times I have ordered lunch from them, something has been horribly wrong. The first time, I ordered mustard on my sandwich and got it oozing and dripping with it...gross. Next time I tried the bread, it was stale. Finally the last 2 times, I ordered a turkey sandwich on a bagel and the bagel was rock hard. I tried to call them to advise them that the bagels were stale and the employee basically called me a liar and said that they order their bagels in frozen every 2 days so it was "impossible" that they could be stale. She did not offer to anything in return, just to order the bread next time. I'm done...boycott is on!
I didn't really eat food here. Had some cake and a coffee, pricey! But very good. Nice clean place, lovely staff... trendy spot! I'll go there again for dessert!
We visited Twiggs because we were told the cheesecakes are great, and they are. It is a very busy location, and during busy times, it can be tough to find parking, and the line can get pretty long, but the servers are nice and the food and drinks are decent.
The price was alright, but the coffee was gross, and the service was bad. The place needs a good cleaning and could benefit from a good server or two.
I LOVE TWIGG'S! IT'S DELICIOUS! I'm addicted! The servers are very yonug and slow tho. The owners are great! Sometimes it can be very hectic, and other times very calm and nice.
I have no clue why I go to Twiggs so much. The service is beyond slow, half the time you don't get what you ordered, the older ladies are the grumpiest people on the face of the planet, the young girls are well young girls...friendly but slow and confused all the time. The food is OK but nothing to write home about, the coffee is good but everything else is over priced and just OK and inconsistant. The place definetly needs a make over the walls still have logos on them from the previous business! Id say the place hasn't been made over in roughly 15 years?!! The tables are all wobbly and the bench at the back is disgusting I refuse to sit on it for fear of getting fleas or something worse.
Found the scone very dry and tasteless and capp was nothing special...found service poor; girls at counter were more involved in chatting to each over than serving customers. oh we had the lemonade to, it was a joke for $4 - 1/2 lemon basically squized into water...don't most places give free lemon water???
I've been going to twiggs for years and never ordered breakfast before. It was an awesome breakfast, and we ate it out on the patio on a nice sunny morning.
Twiggs is one of North Bay's best spots for coffee, breakfast, lunch, or snacks. The servers are friendly, the offerings are tasty and reasonable, and the acoustic music is pleasant. It's too bad the patio isn't more private and green, but in North Bay, who's is? Keep up the good work!
We love Twiggs and with the changes we have noticed taking place over the past few months we are enjoying it even more. The service is always great, very nice girls and even if they are busy, which is almost always, they always try and take the time to make everyone in line feel good!
Very good restaurant/coffee shop...could for sure compete with any place around in terms of food quality and service!
My boyfriend and I have beed frequent customers of Twiggs for a few years now. Up until our last visit everything was excellent. We ordered coffee but received chi teas instead. We assumed the girl gave us someone else's order, when we told her this, she told us that that is what we ordered. We also orderd deserts for take out, when waiting for our food a different girl opened a frezer and a bag of scones fell out onto the floor. She put the scones back into the back, and into the freezer. These clearly should have been thrown out. Customers should be able to trust that the food they're eating hasen't been mishandled or soiled. After witnessing the scones on the floor we will not return.
The food at twigg's is awesome! I give the service a 9 because it was a little slow. The place was very busy so I can understand why it was a little slow.
This is definitely the best breakfast in town. The coffee was good as always but this was the first time I ordered breakfast. I order a coffee from Twigg's every time I go through town but I highly recommend trying the breakfast.
We showed up and it seemed a bit busy but most people had ordered and were either sitting and waiting or enjoying their coffee/cake already. We ordered and proceeded to wait for about 15 minutes for 2 hot chocolates. A girl came out with two drinks in her hand and asked us if we were drinking Chai Lattes (we said no) another woman said she ordered ONE, so the idiot girl gives her one and drops us off the othere even after we said no. Thinking maybe she made a mistake and it was our hot chocolate I drink from it and it's chai (I like chai, so I was ok with it but not really impressed). Anyway she comes back a minute later with our other "hot chocolate" which should have been a large but was a medium. My boyfriend drinks from it and makes a face, clearly not hot chocolate. Anyway, he takes them back and they ask if we drank from them!?!?! AS IF they would even CONSIDER giving them to someone else!! SKETCHY. Anyway he says yes, they make us hot chocolates... We leave and begin to sip on the walk home and it's awful. Until about 3/4 down when we realize they didn't STIR it. I understand if we got coffee and we're going to add our own "fixings" but it's hot chocolate... with whipped cream on top implying it's a finished product. NOT IMPRESSED. Never again.
Pros: Cheese Cake, Coffee, White Hot Chocolate were all pretty good. Fair trade coffee options. Cons: Service is often below average, rude at times. Also, I was dining in and instead of giving me a coffee mug they gave me a styrofoam cup, which they wouldn't need to wash. Styrofoam is horrible for the environment!
