Their fries were great as usual. Fish was terrible. Premade and then microwaved. Soggy and rubbery.
They offered a fresh takeout replacement, but it should have been cooked correctly the first time.
Thank you for your feedback, recently we have sourced a local supplier and have switched brands of Haddock... I think that you will find this product much superior. They are beautiful fillets from Nova Scotia and they have been very well received by our customers.

I've been here many times and lately end up being disappointed most of the time. I've had food that has been cold, poorly prepared and often they run out of items. Service is usually poor.

Good place ! Good food and good people . Not many places in north bay that can compare. Will be interesting to see the place in the winter
I Love Ivan's! I have been going there since i was in high school and it has always been great. The new owner "the daughter" Kristina, has really impressed me since she bought the place. Even with a new baby she's very involved. The food is Fantastic, portions are great and the staff is very friendly!

I've eaten here more times that one could count. But now that the business had been handed down to the daughter (to my understanding) It is just gone a different direction, the wrong direction.
Consistency is no longer there! Maybe it will come back one day.. I hope.
My best friend lives in North Bay and I visit often. No trip north would be complete without at least one trip to Ivan’s! I was really surprised when I read MickeyCharlie’s review…every time I’ve been to Ivan’s, I’ve had nothing but courteous and quick service, even on the busiest days! I’m sure if MickeyCharlie had spoken up rather than stewing about his experience, the staff would have gone out of their way to make him happy! Every meal I’ve had at Ivan’s has been delicious and I really appreciate the quality of the food! I’m counting down the days until my next visit for a juicy Ivan’s burger!!!!

I waited literally 40 minutes for a hamburger which I ordered to go. I got it, and it was burnt. I have never been more, pardon the pun, burnt.
Recently, I had the pleasure of discovering the North Bay tradition known as Ivan's Restaurant. For years I have been hearing about their legendary poutine and "Pronto Pups" (pogos). The experience did not disappoint! The restaurant is clean and comfortable and the staff is welcoming. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger (fantastic!) and a side of fries (also fantastic!) I indulged in a chocolate shake - and was impressed to see that it was made the old fashioned way. A great dining experience! I can see why they have such a great reputation! Thanks, I'll be back!

Claude, the fomer owner has recently sold Ivan's to his son and daughter. Ever since then I have felt a bit uncomfortable there. The daughter is always business, business, business. I imagine she makes her employees quite nervous. The son doesn't seem to be into it at all. I placed an order with him one day and he LITERALLY did not speak a single word to me. I actually had to look at the register for my total as he blankly stared at me. Very odd. I never felt this way before. Claude acted like a bit of a host and it was nice - made me feel valued and appreciated as a customer. Now, I feel rather like the number I'm given to bring to my table. Service with a smile goes along way guys. Treat your customers like you would want to be treated. Pretty basic stuff really.

Having you up front at the cash is a great way to get your order in quick, and you dont have to wait around to pick up your meal, they bring it to you. So if you are in a rush, and want very good food ivans is a great place to go. Also lunches are very well priced, great burgers and wraps. The Pronto pups (pogos) the poutine should be famous and cant be beat. VERY friendly atmosphere and service.
