Wanted a quick, good down-home breakfast in a small restaurant with a personable waiter/waitress.
This is a SMALL restaurant with not much room to move. It took awhile before the waitress asked me if I wanted coffee (which was old and a bit bitter).
The eggs were cold and overcooked and I'm sure the bacon was at least a few day old - dried out and hard to chew. The home fries were only passable. The toast was cold and limp. Live and learn - never going there again.
My husband and I have been going to Mello's since the early '70's. The service is fast, the food is fresh and just like MOM makes. The staff become family very quickly. If you're looking for a diner-type place to catch a quick bite for breakfast, lunch or dinner - try it out.
