Service is not that great. We called 10 minutes to rsvp as per the website says and when we came and mentioned that we called they scowled at us like it was a big inconvenience to come in. You wait forever for a refill, or to pay. Food was ok but if you're used to dining in Scarborough where great sushi buffets are abundant, you'll leave full but not really satisfied (you'll know what I mean).
I've been here twice and both times I found the food quite enjoyable. We went again this past Saturday and I'm pretty irritated. The restaurant was packed, which is fine, but it was clearly understaffed. We basically had to get our own table and ended up having to take a pen from a nearby table in order to fill our our first round of food. They didn't bring us water, and didn't even get our plates for us. We ended up grabbing everything ourselves from a nearby supply table and threw our order at a server as he rushed by. Our meal ended up taking well over an hour and a half and there were a few times it took so long to get our food, we had forgotten what we'd ordered. Ridiculous. Great value, but service is horrible. I've found the staff is also very unfriendly. No apologies, and absolutely no conversation. Oh, and also the price is decent for adults. I think it's $15 for each but we had to pay $10 for our 4 and 6 year olds as well. Seemed kind of crazy. Our bill ended up being $60 which in the end was absolutely not worth it.
I have been visiting Kanda since it opened, and have always been satisfied. The food is good (considering the price), and the service is good. The food has always been fresh and flavourful, and the premises clean. As with most AYCE places, the more polite you are, the better the service you receive.
We were very excited to see this little place open up, as our family adores sushi and it is quite close to our home. Sadly, it was a real disappointment. The price is right, but the food is beyond mediocre and the service was horrid. Because it is an all you can eat sushi place, you place your orders via ticket, with the waitress. Several times we did not receive the food we ordered, and when we asked about it, the servers either did not understand us, or simply didn't answer. The sushi when it came appeared to still be thawing from the frozen state and the rice was falling apart, hard and quite cold. We never got the octopus which we ordered on several tickets, nor were we ever given an explanation of it's absence. The servers did not return often to the table, even though the restaurant was virtually empty, so we were often waiting long after being ready for someone to come to take the next order. Even at this price I would not return.
fABULOUS GREAT SERVICE AND GOOD VALUE. gREAT FOR LUNCH OR DINNER
Service was good, food was alright.
Service fantastic. Fresh sushi...can't beat the price! I am the pickiest eater, I always have something I don't like at any meal. We ordered a ton of food from the ACYE, and I couldn't decide which dish to eat next because they were all so amazing. The avocado roll was the freshest I've ever had, and the chicken udon stir fry was great, the spicy chicken was suprisingly good and no dish was a dissapointment. definitely my new favourite sushi place, I never give poor service a second chance - thankfully this place has given A++++ service each time I go!
I would say that this is a pretty good sushi place. They have a good selection on their menu, and the sushi tasted fresh. Furthermore, drinks and deserts were included in the the lunch/dinner buffet selection. Overall, the service was good and efficient. Unlike in other AYCE sushi places, in Kanda all the items that have been ordered had arrived to our table.
My co-workers and i came on a weekend for lunch since we wanted to have thai food close by. we ordered 2 friend rices, two noodles and a veggie curry. the place looks great but the food was cold when it got to the table, this happened both times we went, when it wasnt really busy at all.
I went on the weekend, wanting to order their lunch specials only to find out that they do not offer them during the weekend. :( This is too bad as it does seem like a good way to get a feel for their food! I ordered a Thai Red Beef Curry, while my bf ordered their Pad Thai. Sorry, I can't remember the cost, but they were 'round $9.99/each. My dish had absolutely no veggies in it, but it was flavourful. I really wished it had something else like mushrooms, bamboo shoots, or chunks of bell peppers, but no. I had a taste of the Pad Thai, but I personally didn't like it. The sauce was more sweet 'n sour than authentic pad thai, tamarind. What was really awkward was that there were absolutely NO other patrons in the restaurant. No takeout orders, no nothing which is too bad 'cause it seems like they did spend quite a bit renovating the space! Empty restaurants do make me nervous about returning. I'd go back if I were in the restaurant...for a weekday lunch special though! ;)
