Truly enjoy going to this restaurant, staff are excellent, asst. managers come for a chat, food is great lots of variety and decor is tastefully done. Will continue to go there.
Manderine buffet it's costing alot altogether their food serve with many deserts than hotfoods I go there was for hotfoods not deserts
Always hot. Always delicious. Kind servers. Large variety to eat. Long line ups at times. RSVP!
How could anyone not like this place!! Excellent food and service!!
I had a really bad experience there. One of the servers literarily blamed us on the tips. I will never go back to eat and to stand that disrespectful server
Worth the money for lunch on a weekday . Weekends over price . Great selection to choose
there are obviously way better authentic Chinese Food places elsewhere, however, if you want cheap AYCE lunch. Line up at the trough like the rest of us and load a few plates to the top - Enjoy and deal with the gluttony later!
FOOD-Each and every canadianized chinese food item is jam packed with fat, grease, and sugary sauces which spike your insulin levels and cause cholesterol levels to soar. Buffet food is indeed over processed junk; with a display of a variety of items like fried meat and battered this and breaded that heck even the veggies are splashed with over generous amounts of artery clogging oil! Those who prefer quality spend your money elsewhere. MSG IS NOT HEALTHY ! For those with food intolerance or food allergy issues.........stay away from this junk it will be more harmful to body. Nothing tasted good even the suishi was awful. Dessert forget about it unless you want frozen crap defrosted. Nothing is fresh. This was last time going with friends- after spending hours sick from Mandarin :( SERVICE- Good DECOR-Bland and much older crowd,
This buffet is getting pricey. I expect more choice with higher cost. Would be nice if they asked if you would prefer a quieter table. ** Hint:** Do NOT go early (Lunch or Dinner) to avoid the crush. Hang back 90 minutes or so. The food is generally good, although several popular items, like the Roast, the mini steaks, Ribs & even the Lemon Chicken can be dry. Golden Fish is getting too small & over-breaded at times. Torpedo shrimp can be very oily. Shrimp choices without breading are better. Grilled meats (most) are very good. Dessert highlights include Apple pie, Lemon cake, cream pies, cheese cake. Ice cream is often too hard and the kiddies really mess it up scooping...... totally unappetizing ))Suggestion: Think outside the box...Install a self serve Soft Ice Cream machine. That way nobody gets their hands into the ice cream.
So around my fourth time beibg there thinking it was a great placa great food and " clean".. I find in my plata after taking a bite .. A cockroach covered in sauce fron the food.. Most disgusting think that has ever happened to me.. My luck.. Never going back.
Ok, it's a buffet with a LOT of variety. It's up to you to make it count. I like the variety so I take very small portions. Quarter bowl of Hot and Sour soup mixed with a couple of wontons from the Wonton soup. Stay away from the rice unless you want to fill up. People go crazy over the crab legs, they don't impress me none. Prime rib station is the first walk by. If you like Med Rare this is a necessary step. They may have some Med rare, if not judge by the size when you will need to come back or ask the server. Sometimes they have lamb,,, same question for server. The sushi rolls are okay and the Grill station(chicken, sausage, gyoza) is worth some plate space. The green beans are good when they first come out from the kitchen. I skip the desert. A man has got to know his limits. Discounts for seniors with ID and yes, they ask for it. Can get very crowded on weekends. Reservations are a smart idea, the waiting room at this location can get filled up and there is maybe 10 chairs.
It's the Manderin it's Buffet, Lot's of food and you leave there stuffed! Great selection that caters to even the pickiest of people, Besides the Oriental Staff the food is about as Oriental as I am but overall good tasting grub! Great place for the family! My kids love it.
We had to wait 30 mins for a table, but service was prompt after that. On the way to the table, I looked at the food on offer and was ready to beeline for certain items. I do eat Chinese food but on this occasion, I didn't eat anything Chinese at all. For first course, I had a good thick slice of beef from the Canadian station, and some roasted chicken, potatoes (large home fries really) and mussels. Second course was much the same, third course was a plate of mussels, and for desert a small bowl of strawberries. Next time, I will try the Chinese food..
Going here on a Weekday for dinner was less busy than weekends. We went in and waited about 3 minutes to be seated for our table. When we were greated by the wait staff we were asked for our drink order. We just chose ice water as it had been a hot day. We were served warm water with about 1 or 2 mostly disolved cubes. Water was still warm. this happened 4 times during our dinner and we finally had to ask them for the ice portion as the water was warm. The food was typical buffet style and had lots of selection. They had prime rib on the buffet so we had a small piece and tried some mash potatoes. the beef was average but slightly dry. The potatoes were totally gross. They tasted like powdered and were not edible. On to the other selections. The cihnese food was average and tasted ok. We had to ask for soy sauce and it finally came at the end of our meal. I guess we were supposed to use if for our desert. The fact that there were not overly busy did not explain the poor level of service and the substandard customer care. I would think twice before spending almost twenty per preson to go here again.
It is hard to say a lot about the Mandarine. It is usually very busy, tables are fairly close together, and the decor is a bit dated and tacky. What can you say, it is no more or less than you would expect from a buffet. The food is not bad, but overall it is a little bland and consists of much frozen, deep fried fare. The only time I feel tempted to go is when they have crab legs.
Very good food and great service. It was the best service I have had in a long time. As for the price, it was good for how much you can eat there and for the food quality. To the complaints about how busy it is: MAKE A RESERVATION.
Mandarin offers a pretty big selection on their buffet. Their food is fresh and hot. But the main problem is, their food seems very bland, and their chinese dishes are not very authentic. This is a great place if you have a large group you need to please. But if the majority of the group enjoys real chinese food, you are better off at almost any other chinese restaurant in the city. Overall the atmosphere seems well lit and clean. The staff are friendly and attentive. I personally would not visit this place again as I find the prices too high for what you get. If you really just want to fill yourself up, I suppose it would be good value, but I prefer quality food over quantity.
tookthe family for dinner tonite. Won't go on a Friday again as it was absurdly busy. We were seated promptly, however, and the hostess was nice. We found the buffet to be clean and well prepped, even though we didn't find it to be authentic chinese as advertised. Our server, Oliver was attentive and efficient and we enjoyed our stay. As we are retired and on a budget we found it to be a little pricey, as far as buffets go. We will return though for a special occasion dinner or celebration perhaps. Good family spot!
We always try to go to Mandarin for lunch if we're going to be in London. You can't beat the food and service. The price isn't bad either for what you get. It's very clean, too, which is a huge plus for me.
I love to eat here, but the prices for lunch is constantly going up. It used to be 8.99, and its up to 11.99, which is getting a bit expensive for a quick lunch! Would like to see lunch prices go down a bit.
