An unexpected gem! Consistently excellent food and service. -terrific quality. Small and inviting. Lunch is a great deal. It is my favorite spot in Hamilton.
I went to this restaurant as I purchased a Wagjag coupon - otherwise I would never have known about this place. When you walk in , it is small but quaint. The waiter we had was very attentive but not over the top and left us alone when we wanted. The food here was surprisingly very, very good and the portions where a nice size - we didn't leave the restaurant still feeling hungry. They also gave a nice bread basket to munch on - I will be going back again soon.
We chose from the Prix Fixe menu (not the Localicious one), and everything was terrific but the Caesar salad didn't have much flavour so we likely won't order that next time. The beef medallions were too salty for me but they are very flexible, and I'm sure it would be adjusted if requested. The sides (mixed veggies) were cooked perfectly and the rosti potatoes were a nice treat. Service was fantastic.
I have gone to this restaurant numerous times over the past couple years, and it's always on the mark. Fresh, great food, and decent portions at a price I can afford. Often, I take home half my dinner. Usually, I don't have room for dessert but when I do, it's delicious. I've tried different items each time I have went and every single dish is tasty. Presented well too. I have had the crab cakes, scallops, quail, butternut squash ravioli, goat cheese salad, roasted beets, lamb, beef tenderloin, etc. Service is always great. One of my favorite restaurants.
I've been going to this little gem since it opened ( I think about 5 years ago). They are consistently top notch, both in terms of food , as well as service. We've never been disappointed . They offer a great 3 course prix fix menu for $30, which my partner and I tend to order. I find the staff very engaging, as they recognize us by name , and are always very friendly. I would recommend Incognito to anyone; there is a reason they have won restaurant of the year for 2 years consecutively !!!
We gave this place a try a few times believe it or not.It just keeps getting worse. First off the food is well prepared and very tasty. We had the spinach salad which is very well made with baby spinach, cranberries, mandarin oranges, and candied walnuts. The pasta with strips of pork is great and will have u craving more. This is where the good news ends. The place is decorated ok but nothing to rave about thats for sure.Very plain and small with a few paintings thrown on the wall. The people working there need many lessons in customer service. They will never refill your water glass. They never do the customer service check asking you how your meal is.They also seem to cater to customers they regard as more important.Which is a big no no in the service industry.Well guess what, they have lost our business.
Party of two. We ordered sea scallops for a starter but unfortunately it wasn't available. Ordered the black tiger shrimp, which was a tiny portion of very small shrimp, but quite tasty. The crab cakes were OK but tasted like any other deep fried dish. The warm goat cheese salad was quite nice but nothing special, and again, a very meager portion. We ordered the beef tenderloin, only to find out after more than 20 minutes that it wasn't available. Had the pork tenderloin instead, which was excellent. The wine selection was pretty good. Overall, we left disappointed for a restaurant in that price range.
This was my 4th visit. It's an extremely attractive restaurant, but for the first time I was rather disappointed. The service could have been a little more attentive - e.g. more carefully checking out drinks with all who were at the table; offering more bread; and giving the group (5) of us more than one wine list to view at the start. It could be that they were under-staffed on this evening? The Cornish hen was one of the specials and it was recommended to us, yet all who ordered it (4) thought that its taste was quite bland and it seemed almost underdone. We all thought that the vegetables that accompanied the hen, however, were tender-crisp and delicious. The whole grain breads were lovely, too. The decaf' coffee was OK, but somewhat heavy-tasting. A cup of fresh and perfectly-made coffee is always a wonderful way to end a good meal, just as a little piece of top-quality chocolate hits the right note, too, instead of a being offered the ubiquitous hard mint. In its overall appearance and with its menu, Incognito comes across as a fine-dining establishment, and so, one's expectations are higher.
Great food. Nice atmosphere. Good service. My bf really enjoyed his quail appetizer and duck dish. Loved the butternut squash raviloi myself.
I tried to visit this place many months ago, I was perusing the menu posted in the window, when the business owner next door at a junk shop called "pastimes" who I believe was mentally ILL started screaming at everyone on the street ! Me and my date just left. I did not let that deter me from trying again. I chose this restaurant for a second date. The service was impeccable. The food Fantastic and the atmosphere was divine.
The atmosphere was amazing. The service was great - the server was friendly and helpful. We were a little intimidated because it was our first time in a more upscale restaurant, but the staff was very nice. Food was a little pricey for a university student (just over $35 a person), but it was delicious and very well presented. We will most likely go back two or three times a year. Parking was scarce.
We went to Incognito for the first time on a Friday for $5 Friday appetizers. I don't know what we expected, but we didn't expect that you could eat dinner in a white tablecloth restaurant for $15 a head! That's what a caesar salad, a serving of (3 large) raviolis and a glass of wine would cost. In our case we tried all the apps and they were all excellent. Of course, you can spend much more here, and I intend to in the future. The place is nicely appointed and the service was good. The only answer I can up with for not coming here earlier is the uninspiring facade of the restaurant and the lack of parking. Make the effort, it's worth it, especially on Friday night.
The caesar salad was light , crisp , and delicious . Pasta sauce to die for. Service was friendly and excellent. We will return.
Great food at great prices, this place has Toronto quality food at unbeatable prices. You will be in for a great suprise!!!!
