I had heard good things about Manhattan's, but my dinner experience was very disappointing. The food was incredibly overpriced, not to mention bland and boring. The caesar salad was pretty weak. The pizza in particular had not real flavour to speak of. I was especially miffed by the fact that the kitchen forgot to put chicken on our pizza. Instead they put the chicken on our pizza after it came of the oven. As a result, it was cold, and kept falling off the pizza. Then they charged us for it anyway ($5 to boot!). The so-called "jazz" music was more like cheesy, way-too-loud, easy-listening music, and I resented being charged for it. So all in all, I would definetly not go back to Manhattan's. It is highly over-rated compared to other restaurants in Guelph.
Great atmosphere, great music, great martinis. bad bad bad food. So average and overpriced. 3 out of our 4 dishes were very poor. A small pizza with a bit of sausage on it - $28 ! Pasta swimming in 1 cm deep oil. Goat's cheese appetiser that was laughably lacking in size and quality. Even more disappointing was the management's attitude to our concerns...'well you pay for the atmosphere'. no excuse for inedible food. avoid the food, go sit at the bar.

This place is highly touted but I've been twice and it is either slipping or, well, something. Bad service and below average food. Can't say I'll ever go back.

Had reservations, told our table was just about to be ready, and had to wait for 25 minutes for the table to come open. Sat at the bar, as the music played....very good addition to the night, but there is not a notice that there is a cover charge, as it is just added to our final bill. I guess it is too much to note on the front door, as a courtesy to the customers. When we were finally seated, the caesar salad took forever, and was sooo very small, lifeless and flavourless, then, it took forever!!!! for the pizza to arrive...32.00 or was it 33??...I think that any fast food pizza would stack up against it. A flatbread pizza with a dash of toppings.... With a beer and a glass of wine, the cover charge and tip, it was 75.00. Not what i call value in this day and age.
