Good food but the owner...

I've been eating at this place for years but the last time I had a bad experience with the young owner. He was quite rude and very unaccomodating with our party of six. I let him know I was not impressed but he seemed not to care even though I told him he just lost a long time customer. Still the best fish and chips in the area although the price is on the high side and portions a little small.

Hungry group

Our group of anywhere from 6 to 12 friends have now fequented this resaurant for the past 9 years. It has become our favorite place. Great food, fair pricing and excellent service, the staff know us from the moment we walk in. We are treated special and usually finsh our meals with their award wining Banana Royale desert, a real treat! We were there this year and took part in the annual Taste of the Kingsway festival. We were blown away, they were serving Halibut Fish & Chip samplers to a large outside seating area We understand that they managed to serve over 4,000 people. They should rename the festival to Taste of Kingsway Fish & Chips. Love this place!!

We celebrate special occasions at Kingsway Fish & Chips and are never disappointed. The service is excellent. The atmosphere is very comforting. The meal is delicious and hearty. Look forward to revisiting.

Always Enjoyable

We started our meal with some of the finest Shrimps I have tasted in a long time, Large and I mean "Large" obviously hand peeled and deep fried in a light batter. The Halibut and Chips ( home made) were excellent and for desert we had this Bannana Royale - outstanding finish to a great meal.

Stay Away From This Place !!!

This place used to be very very good, but not anymore. The fish was passable, but the fries were dark, hard, and inedible. I sent my dinner back. The server came back with my plate with the fish still on it but the fries removed and said that is the way they are, take it of leave it ! So, I ate the fish, paid the bill and left ! NEVER TO RETURN !!! There are lots of good restaurants out there. Skip this joint ! Too pricy and too much attitude for me !

Our server introduced himself as Leo and his sevice and attention was excellent. our meals arrived swiftly and the food was properly cooked, crisp golden brown batter, moist tender Halibut fish, a respectable caersar salad and the grilled variations a real treat,all in all the food was excellant!! The obviously fresh cut fries were perfect. Even some decent wines for a change. This is a bright clean restaurant with lots of seating.i counted well over a 100. Ask for Leo, he will ensure that you get a perfect meal. We will be back!!

We found Kingsway Fish & Chips to be a bright clean attrctive place the service was swift and the food delicious. We had the signature seafood chowder all round. I had the grilled lemon pepper salmon and everyone ell's the Halibut Fish & Chips sweet white melt in your mouth fish yummy!! For desert we had the Banana Royale a deep fried banana served with ice cream and drizled with chocolate and cinimon Wow!

Love the fish & chips in this great neighborhood. After chips one can wander around the corner to the library or stroll the Kingsway shops. I just wish that I could find a site that posts the hours of operation.

Definitly one of the best places for fish & chips in Toronto. Fast service and lots of seating which is rare in a place like this.
