After cold garbage food that night, no removal of plates, no water fill ups and then charging my 9 year old $16-17 bucks for her little plate, I went to put a bill for $75 for a family of four. Service was awful-non one came to our table. I decided not to tip and the guy at the counter was rude and actually asked why I didn’t tip!? Really?! Take out only and in desperate times. Lucky I go back at all!
Before the restuarant burned down they had the best food in Durham region then when they reopened they changed suppliers and whatever curry their supplier is using is aweful. Dont eat here. I used to buy 80.00 dollars af food off them every week now first order after they rebuilt I pitched it all in garbage.
My first impression of Double Dragon Delights was that it was structurally safe and an Asian food establishment. I was right about ONE thing. I ordered the hot wasabi wrap, and boy was I in for a hotter time than I expected.
I read the reviews before going to this place... I walked in with low expectations. The fabric on the seats is absolutely disgusting... spills and stains. The food isn't really as bad as some say. Its a little on the greasy side, but what do you expect when almost everything is either deep fried or pan fried in oil? The chicken wings are actually pretty tastey if you can get past all the oil. I tried the desserts once (nuff said). I stick with the ice cream. But seriously, to get away from work for an hour and have a filling lunch for under $10 I can't complain. I could spend more and only get a sub. I've been back several times and the place is still messy, but I don't go there to look at the furniture. As for the comments about the dude behind the till... hilariously correct. Each and every time I go up to pay, I have to ask for my fortune cookie. Are these things made of gold? I just filled my plate from the buffet which is all you can eat, but you have to ask for a cookie... too funny.
We mostly go for the buffet, but occasionally order take out. Have no complaints about the food or service. The restaurant would benefit with a make over.
Perhaps the worst chinese food I've ever eaten or at least tried to eat. The dining room was filthy and I don't think it has been cleaned maybe ever. The ceilings, walls, floor and furniture were disgusting. The waitress as sloppy, dumpy and disinterested which is completely expected considering the place she had to work. The food was awful. Tasteless and greasy. I had a couple of bites and couldn't wait to leave. All that and it was still $26 for two of us. Keep driving.
Food is reasonably fresh and hot if you go during meal times. Nice blend of spices in the entrees. Need work on appetizer/fresh salad choices. Desserts consist of cake-type bars cut into pieces, or not the best pie along with 4 choices of ice cream.
This is the best darn Buffet in ALL of Canada. I love this place so much that I'm going to ask my fiance if we can have the reception at Double Dragon Delight.
This is the greatest authentic Chinese buffet I have every experienced. I love the obvious time, dedication and passion the Double Dragon Delights award winning chef puts into each dish. The desserts are to die for.
Well I don’t normally eat Chinese food, but today my wife talked me in to it. We ordered it for delivery and it almost seemed to have come within ten minutes. So I will give them credit in that department. But the food…..left little to be desired. The only thing I could manage to choke down was a few chicken balls. The rice, no word of a lie, smelt and taste like an ashtray. Also, I found two small hairs within the first few scoops. I didn’t eat any of the chicken chow main but my wife did. She was hesitant at first to admit the food was bad, but even she had a hard time getting it down, and eventually admitted the chicken chow main tasted like ashes as well.
This review is based on the first time I went to this resturant. I did enjoy it, a lot better than some of the buffets in Oshawa. The servers were still "new", but they did fill my water!
I GET THERE TAKE OUT ALL THE TIME THERE FOOD IS GOOD AND VERY REASONABLY PRICED
rude and very short, really couldn't care if you like the food or not. I think it's a culture issue, this place is ok for takeout. Andrew
Have been to this restuarant a few times now. Decor is lacking but value for a quick, easy, very casual family style meal is good. Buffet selection is hottest and freshest during early evening at weekends. If you want banana fritters for dessert they only seem to be done at the weekend! Wait staff are friendly enough but you'll have to ask them for coffee top-up.
this restarant isnt as bad as the reviews would suggest food was good buffet was small waitress was friendly why dont they open the patio? it would be the best patio in bowmanville
They could do a better job and cleaning and dusting the place. Food is tasty, and appears to be fresh. Have been there many times and sometimes the staff are too busy chating to see if you need a refill. Would go back.
Great place to go. Friendly service. A nice quiet place for Lunch or Dinner
I went to this resturant with my family and the food was alright but the owners and staff are hurtin. cya
We wanted to try the take-out for the first time. We have never been at this restaurant before.. When we were ready to leave the owner was extremely rude to us and treated us very badly. Horrible customer service. I can't rate the food since we didn't get any but the service was horrible. Never seen anything like it- unbelievable!
