Housed in the historic Dominion Grand Hotel (est. 1899) in Gastown, this pub was renovated in 2007 and retains its original tin-stamped ceilings, exposed brick walls, stained glass windows and railings. The rest of this storied room has been given a grand renovation, including a new sound system and jukebox, classic pub furniture and flatscreen TVs. A long-time favourite Vancouver watering hole, the Lamplighter is the city's busiest pub for good reason: friendly service, honest local pub fare and a large selection of craft beer and cocktails.

NFL fans flock to this Gastown watering hole throughout the regular season, so it’s no surprise the bar will be putting on a good show for Super Bowl 51. This year, The Lamplighter crew will be barbecuing on the patio – expect six types of sizzling meat skewers paired with Parallel 49 beers. Come game time, sports fans can watch all of the action unfold on two enormous HD projection screens (measuring a soaring 195 inches and 160 inches). With an additional 15 screens throughout the dining room, there’s not a bad seat in the house.
This Gastown staple offers up fun game nights every week, including Trivia Tuesdays and Bingo Wednesdays. It’s the perfect setting for breaking the ice with somebody new and avoiding those awkward conversation lulls. There are also great drink and food deals to go along with the themed nights, so everybody wins at The Lamplighter – even if you lose at the games.
