Affordable Housing was established in 1982 to develop, own and manage rental housing for low and moderate income families, seniors and singles/couples. It is made up of a group of non-profit societies registered either under the Society Act or as a Charity. Affordable operates under a Board of Directors made up of business, professional and community leaders. The Board sets policy, approves major transactions and ensures Affordablés objectives are met.The head office is centrally located in New Westminster and operates under the direction of a management team that consists of CEO Bob Nicklin, Comptroller Steve Hoock and five Property Managers. The society has a portfolio of 58 projects/3,505 units in 13 municipalities, all located in the Lower Mainland of British Columbia. Most of the projects are funded under Federal and/or Provincial government programs so that some or all of the tenants pay rent based on their income. The society does not provide support services though tenants at a few projects can access services on site from other agencies.more...See more text
