Women in Business - Cotton 'n' Crayon Quality, service and selection - these attributes have helped the women behind Cotton 'n' Crayon Children Wear and Toys in Ocean Park become one of the most popular destinations on the Peninsula for unique, safe and exciting toys and clothes for kids of all ages. With an emphasis on high-quality, educational and environmentally friendly toys, Cotton 'n' Crayon's owners - Margaret, Laura and Sandy - make it a priority to source out toys specifically for safety and innovation, carrying items you're not likely to find at large, department-style stores. From award-winning puzzles, to superior quality games, beautiful and unique dolls and education based toys, books and CDs, quality-concious parents can rest assured their getting the best of the best. And as one of the three longest standing children's wear stores in the province, Cotton 'n' Crayon also carries several fresh and exciting lines of clothing for babies, toddlers, children and preteens. This June, Cotton 'n' Crayon will be celebrating a huge milestone - 25 years of providing high-quality, innovative products and bringing smiles to children and parents alike. Co-owner Sandy Smith attributes the store's success to their commitment to always finding the newest and most exciting in children's toys and fashion, and constantly living up to their customer's high expectations. She also said the business' longevity never would have been possible, had it not been for the great team work and friendship between herself, Margaret and Laura. The fact that we were all young mothers, and we managed to put it all together and make it work, we really could have our cake and eat it too, Sandy says, adding that the support of the community and loyal customer base have also been instrumental over the past 25 years. We have to thank our community - they've always been so supportive. Having just returned from the Canadian Toy Fair, the women at Cotton 'n' Crayon are thrilled about the exciting new products they'll be carrying in the coming months. For the girls, the international Karito Dolls are expected to continue to be a popular choice, as are the baby dolls from Carolle. Building and creativity are still the focus for boys, especially with the latest from Playmobil, which comes in a variety of themes and sizes, including pirates, farms, castles and unicorns. Playmobil is always on top of it as far as design and innovation goes, says Sandy.more...See more text
