Welcome to the Haida Child & Family Services Society We are embarking on a journey that will lead us to self governing our own Child Welfare System. We are calling this journey A New Direction 'K'yuu Gawtlaas'. We have given the 'New Direction' a nickname within our offices. We have coined it the 'New Old Direction' because we are instilling Haida values into our practice. Haida values and cultural appropriateness is something that has lacked in the past. We will be building a new traditional model of child welfare that exemplifies the traditional Haida way of life.
