Before co-founding PURE Daily Essentials in 2007 with her best friend, Tanya McCallum, Angela D'Agostino had grown very conscious of the harmful, synthetic ingredients in commercial products and would only use water and olive oil on herself and her children.
“After a while, I got sick of using olive oil and wanted to feel pretty again,” says Angela. She started using locally made organic lip balm from a woman she met, sparking the idea to start a line of natural personal care products of her own. Angela’s infectious enthusiasm soon spread to Tanya, a graphic designer and the brains behind their company branding.
“Once I’m passionate about something I’m very vocal about it; I eat, live and breathe what I believe in, and Tanya was around me all the time, so everything just kind of clicked as she began to notice the multitude of synthetic ingredients in products,” says Angela. “Basically, we’re just two very passionate people on a mission to save the world and steer people away from chemicals…keep cancers away and keep kids from suffering from eczema; the list goes on.”
