Fabricland

I went to Fabricland today to start a project with no measurements. I selected my fabric and CHERYL asked me if I needed help. I explained my idea and she searched through pattern books to find the right one for me. AND she explained how to customize the pattern to suit my idea, showed me other fun projects (I explained I'm new at sewing) and then, measured the correct amount of fabric for me. I couldn't believe how she attended to my little project, like a wise friend. CHERYL was superb!

The customer service is so poor i felt uncomfortable in the shop. I was a new customer and, as such, entirely unsure of how things worked etc material types, care ratings etc. It was hard to find anyone to answer my questions, without either thumping the material down, or just walking off in my face. I had to pay a membership fee to take advantage of the reduced price, although I have only been here once in the last several years. Wont be going back!

It bothers me that a business can give amazing deals to paying "members" and screw the general public. Literally half off if you buy a yearly membership and ridiculously priced if you don't. My needs don't warrant a membership, so I get hosed at the register every time. To bad there aren't any real altrenatives.
